About Me

I am Jason Taylor, the one and only…okay, I can think of several Jason Taylors, but this blog is mine and not the football player’s.  I have been married to a beautiful woman for five years! We have one daughter that is almost two and we are working on a second. We also have a black labrador who is just a happy-go-lucky fella, easy to please.

I have learned that I love to write. In high school I hated writing and reading. After marrying my wife she introduced me to reading for pleasure and I realized that it was pleasurable. After reading several books including the Harry Potter Series and the Eragon books, I have discovered my like for writing, thus the start of this wonderful blog. I don’t really care who reads it, though everyone is welcome to, I just like to write and thought this would be a good outlet for sharing my works with the world.

A little history about myself…I have served eight years as an infantryman in the United States Army completing three tours to Iraq, each at least a year in length. Two tours were in Baghdad and one in Bayj. Before I got married I was pursuing a career in Special Forces (Green Beret) and voluntarily withdrew after marriage, realizing that a life of blood, guts, sex, and glory did not have much room for wife, family, and safety. If you want to see what Green Beret training is like check out Two Weeks in Hell from the Discovery Channel, it is a quick rundown. I am currently attending college working on my Bachelors in Accounting.

Before my army life I was involved in Boy Scouts of America. I earned my Eagle Scout Award and the Venturing Leadership Award. Through scouting I learned that I loved to rock climb and the great outdoors. I even went on a backpacking trip to the Grand Tetons and had a close encounter with a grizzly bear. I was pretty cool.

My hobbies include, but are not limited to: paintballing (I own a RAP4 T68), hiking, fishing, camping, skydiving (though it is too expensive for a married with kids college student), and i guess I can’t leave out writing since that is why I started this blog.

Anyway, after such a long introduction I hope you find some sort of entertainment in my blog, and who knows, maybe it will someday fund those expensive hobbies of mine.
